Paralelamente se planea un programa de educación ambiental a través pláticas y actividades de sensibilización capaces de incurrir positivamente en los hábitos de la población mediante el impulso de una cultura ambiental para ser un ejemplo de desarrollo sustentable.
El Centro Huichichiqui implementarán actividades que coadyuven a conservar y optimizar la capacidad de regeneración de los recursos naturales, compartiendo contenidos de divulgación científica y utilizando las herramientas del arte para poner en tránsito estos contenidos.
Uno de los puntos nodales de este eje es el colibrí, animal representativo de la región. Se darán charlas en torno a su morfología y ciclo de vida. Este taller a de más de sensibilizar a los participantes informará y fomentará el cuidado de este animal y la preservación de las especies locales a demás del respeto y cuidado del ecosistema. (Este taller se desarrolla en paralelo con el de danza y alfarería).
Es preocupación de Huichichiqui contribuir a la resiliencia de los ecosistemas y las comunidades frente a crisis y emergencias ambientales como eventos meteorológicos extremos, incendios forestales, inundaciones, etc. Para ello se buscará generar ciclos de pláticas y actividades de divulgación impartidas por especialistas.
Esta programación semestral de charlas y actividades puede iniciar con habitantes de la zona. En el mediano plazo (segundo año) continuar con las actividades se puede proceder al balance del modelo, publicación con resultados de la experiencia. Transferir lo aprendido para que sea utilizado en otros sitios. Elaboración de un corto o pequeño documental de la experiencia.
Requerimientos:
A demás de los materiales y mano de obra para la construcción de vivero, este proyecto requiere de un asesor sobre el tema, identificación de especies nativas, localización de viveros ya existentes, contratación de un par de mujeres para su funcionamiento; identificación de zonas aledañas prioritarias de reforestación; inicio de reforestación, seguimiento y cuidado de las plántulas; y en el segundo año, replicación de la experiencia en otras zonas aledañas.
En el área educativa, se requiere la implementación de charlas acerca de la importancia de la reforestación con especies nativas, así como los problemas asociados a las típicas reforestaciones con especies exóticas.
Se requiere también la búsqueda de especialistas en los temas de biodiversidad de los bosques, la mega diversidad de México y sobre los servicios que ésta brinda para el bienestar humano. Se propone en este eje el diseño e implementación de actividades educativas a demás de charlas sobre la importancia de la prevención de incendios, la concientización sobre las áreas naturales protegidas de la región y su importancia, así como concientización de las especies que se encuentran en la zona que están en peligro de extinción para México. En el mediano plazo (segundo año), se podría establecer contacto con gente de CONAFOR para aspectos más prácticos sobre la prevención de incendios.

Our environmental education program is planned through talks and awareness-raising activities capable of positively engaging the habits of the population by promoting an environmental culture to be an example of sustainable development.
The Huichichiqui Center will implement activities that help to conserve and optimize the regeneration capacity of natural resources, sharing scientific dissemination contents and using art tools to put these contents in transit.
One of the nodal points of this axis is the hummingbird, a representative animal of the region. Talks will be given about its morphology and life cycle. This workshop will more than sensitize the participants will inform and promote the care of this animal and the preservation of local species in addition to respecting and caring for the ecosystem. (This workshop takes place in parallel with the dance and pottery workshop).
It is Huichichiqui’s concern to contribute to the resilience of ecosystems and communities in the face of environmental crises and emergencies such as extreme weather events, forest fires, floods, etc. For this, it will seek to generate cycles of talks and outreach activities given by specialists.
This biannual program of talks and activities can start with local residents. This program can be created in someother sites. We consider the creation of a short documentary of the experience.
Requirements: In addition to the materials and labor for the construction of the vivarium, this project requires an advisor on the subject, identification of native species, location of existing vivarium, hiring a couple of women for its operation; identification of neighboring priority reforestation areas; start of reforestation, monitoring and care of seedlings; and in the second year, replication of the experience in other neighboring areas.
